Unless otherwise notified, your Organization ID and User ID will remain the same. You will however, be issued a new temporary password. Important Note: Organization ID is referred to as Company ID in the new system.

You will continue to access online banking through the login box on the home page of ColumbiaBank.com. There will be a link to Commercial Connect for you to click on and access the new system.

Will current administrators in Business Online Banking need to set up their users in Commercial Connect?
Users and their permissions will automatically transition to the new system. We recommend that administrators verify this information during their preview period to ensure that users and entitlements migrated correctly.

Once migrated to the new system, administrators will be able to add new users and manage users’ functionality within the new system.

Will I still enjoy access to online statements in Commercial Connect?
Yes, the new system will continue to offer online statements. If you are enrolled in online statements today, you will continue to be enrolled in the new system.

Will I see my previous transaction history?
Initially, you will see a minimum of 90 days’ previous transaction history. This will continue to build and store up to 13 months.

Will I be able to view images of paid checks in Commercial Connect?
Yes, check and deposit item images will be available.

When will my current Business Online Banking no longer be available?
You will continue to have access to the current Business Online Banking platform until your transition date. Once you have migrated to Commercial Connect, you will no longer have access to the previous system. You will be notified of your transition date at least 45 days prior through email and USPS mail.

Will the alerts I have set up transfer to Commercial Connect?
No, you will need to re-enroll in alerts. There are more alerts available in the new system and they are more customizable with multiple ways of receiving them – text and email.

You will need to re-establish your scheduled and/or recurring transfers in the new system.

Yes, account transfer templates will migrate to Commercial Connect.

What type of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) does the new system have at login?
Similar to today’s environment, you may be challenged at login. Challenges occur when your login activity falls outside of your normal environment or pattern. During your first login, you will register for Commercial Connect’s verification process – a One-Time Passcode (OTP). You will be prompted to create secure access targets – text or voice numbers which will be used for future logins. This is the system’s built in multi-factor authentication, used to verify your identity when the system detects unusual login behavior or a new device.

How do I make sure my Quicken/QuickBooks information stays current?
You will have up to 90 days of transactions in the new system. Please read the instructions provided prior to your transition date, so you can perform the necessary actions needed ahead of time for disconnecting and reconnecting your Quicken/QuickBooks to the new system.

Will all the accounts I view today through Business Online Banking be available for me to view in the new system?
You will continue to have access to all the same accounts for which you currently have access.

I currently utilize both the business and consumer online banking systems so I have access to mobile deposit. Will I still be accessing two systems or does the new system offer mobile deposit?
At this time, you will continue to access Columbia Connect for mobile deposit. Information about mobile deposit in the new system will be provided later in 2019.

Are the same reports available in the new system? How do I access them?
Reports similar to what you are accustomed to today, along with more options, are available by selecting Custom Reporting under the Account Summary section within Commercial Connect.

Will my ACH services change?
How you manage ACH payments will change when you convert to the new system. However, you will have access to the same ACH payments and services that you do today in the existing system.

How will I access my new ACH services?
You can access ACH services by selecting the Payments & Transfers tab from the home page, then selecting Payment Management.

When will access to ACH Payments in the new system be available?
You will have full access to ACH Payments in the new system as of your transition date. Beforehand, you will have an advanced login preview period during which you can review your ACH Payments and make changes to templates or recipients, but you cannot approve (release) any ACH files for settlement. The date your preview period starts will be communicated to you by email at least 30 days prior to your transition date.

Will I be able to continue using my same account and routing number for ACH and wire activity?
Account and routing number information will not be changing.

Are there any cut-off dates for submitting ACH batches or files when moving to the new system?
There are no cut-off dates. All ACH batches or files released in the current Business Online Banking system will be processed on the effective date. Future dated ACH transactions released with Business Online Banking will not be listed in the Payments section of Commercial Connect.

Will I still be able to create recurring ACH transactions?
Yes, you will still be able to create recurring transactions in Commercial Connect.

Will recurring ACH transactions transfer over to the new system?
Your ACH templates will transfer over to Commercial Connect but you will need to establish the recurring schedule. Remember, all recurring ACH transactions that were released with Business Online Banking will be processed on the effective date and should not be scheduled and approved in Commercial Connect, so be sure to watch for what starting effective date to use when establishing the recurring schedule in Commercial Connect.

Will I still be able to approve ACH files with a next day effective date until 4:00 p.m. PDT?
Yes, the ACH cutoff time will remain the same.

Will my ACH recipients automatically convert?
Most, if not all, of your ACH recipients will automatically convert. Some tax or child support recipients are not able to be automatically converted due to the complexity of those payment types. Please confirm all ACH recipients during the early login preview period to ensure you are able to obtain all necessary details from Business Online Banking before your transition date to Commercial Connect.

Are there user and/or template limits in the new system?
If you currently have user and/or template limits, you will continue to have the same limits in the new system. Your overall daily limit will not change.

If you currently use the feature known as Validator in the existing system, you will use the File Import feature in the Payment Center under the Payment Management link in Payments & Transfers.

Will changes need to be made to NACHA files before using Commercial Connect?
You should not have to make any changes to your NACHA file. We highly recommend testing your ACH NACHA files during your preview period; however, you will not be able to release your files during this period.

I have wire templates set up today, will this information convert to the new system?
Your wire templates will transition. We highly recommend that you review all templates during the advanced login preview period to ensure they migrated correctly. Updates may be necessary if a beneficiary bank was not properly identified during our transition process.

When reviewing foreign/international wire templates, please pay specific attention to:

  • Identifying the Beneficiary Bank and Beneficiary Account using the IBAN
  • Reason for the transfer

Any updates you make will help us to process payments as quickly as possible after the migration.

Is there a system for wire notifications and how are they sent?
If you are set up to receive wire notifications from the bank, you will continue to receive those after your transition to the new system. Any alerts you may have set up through Business Online Banking, will not convert over and you will need to set those up again.

Will approved future dated payments be affected by the transition?
If you have initiated and approved a wire transfer for execution on a future date in Business Online Banking prior to the transition, it will be executed per your request. Its execution will not be affected by the transition to Commercial Connect. Similarly, if you have originated a batch of ACH payments and they were approved in Business Online Banking prior to the transition, they will not be affected by the migration to Commercial Connect.

Early Login Preview Period

What is the early login preview period?
The early login preview period allows you to have access to Commercial Connect prior to transitioning to this new system and while still having access to the current Business Online Banking system. It allows you to familiarize yourself with the new environment and start customizing it prior to going live in the new system. Preview Mode cannot be used to approve (release) any outgoing payments, including account-to-account transfers.

What should I be doing during preview?
During preview, we recommend that you perform a number of activities to familiarize yourself and prepare for your transition.
  • Customize your interface.
  • View all migrated templates for accuracy.
  • If you currently extract data, do so during the preview to ensure you can extract the information from the new system in a way that meets your needs.
  • If you currently download BAI formatted data, do so during the preview to ensure the download formats do not affect your downstream processing of the file.
  • Upload ACH payments in NACHA format to ensure there are no issues when you convert.
  • Practice initiating wire transfers up to the point where they are approved (released). Note: You will not actually be able to complete transactions during the preview period.
  • Correct and update any wire transfer templates.
  • Practice account transfers up to the point where they are approved (released). Note: You will not actually be able to complete transactions during the preview.
  • Create new users (if applicable) that will become effective upon your transition date.
  • Verify that users and entitlements transitioned correctly.

There are many more things you can do during the preview period to get to know the system. These are just a few common items we recommend.

Yes, the changes you make during the preview will remain once you transition to the new system. However live payments cannot be approved (released) during this period.
