Tokens Changes

Replacing a hard or soft token with a One-Time Passcode (OTP) allows you to confirm your identity using voice or text.

The Most Critical Things to Know

  • Hard tokens and soft tokens will not migrate to Commercial Connect. You will utilize an OTP in the new system to authenticate you when you are approving ACH or wire transactions, managing users, or logging in from a new device.
  • Advantages of an OTP versus a hard or soft token:
    • You no longer need to use an additional device.
    • You can receive your OTP by either text message or voice.
    • The same OTP feature is used for multifactor authentication at login and for ACH or wire approvals.

What type of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) does the new system have at login?
Similar to today’s environment, you may be challenged at login. Challenges occur when your login activity falls outside of your normal environment or pattern. During your first login, you will register for Commercial Connect’s verification process – a One-Time Passcode (OTP). You will be prompted to create secure access targets – text or voice numbers which will be used for future logins. This is the system’s built in multi-factor authentication, used to verify your identity when the system detects unusual login behavior or a new device.
